Reportedly, iPhone maker Apple (AAPL) is expected to launch its long-rumored augmented reality glasses in late 2022, informed analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of TF International Securities. The Apple headset will have a processor with the same computing power as a Mac or PC, it also will have a lower-end processor for managing sensor-related data. The smart glasses will use two Sony 4K micro OLED displays, he informed.
Kuo claimed that Apple’s augmented reality glasses will be able to operate without relying on an iPhone, and the ability of Apple AR glasses to operate without being linked to an iPhone will be an important differentiator. The AR glasses could replace the iPhone business in 10 years, Apple believes. The first-generation smart glasses from Apple will debut in the fourth quarter of 2022, Kuo added.
