As per reports, Apple (AAPL) is set to use Tesla’s Megapack at its new battery-based renewable energy storage facility at its California solar farm. Apple informed the facility to store 240 megawatt-hours of energy, strong enough to power more than 7,000 homes for one day. The setup will consist of 85 Tesla lithium-ion “megapacks” and be used to help power the company’s corporate headquarters in Cupertino.
Tesla, known for its electric vehicles, has been working to build its solar power business over the past few years. The company entered the solar business in 2016 with the acquisition of SolarCity for $2.6 billion. Tesla remained unavailable for comment.
