Reportedly, Twitter may soon update its user verification process, informed CEO Tesla (TSLA) Elon Musk, after he took over the social media giant recently. The social media giant is considering charging for the blue check mark verifying the identity of its account holder.
“Whole verification process is being revamped right now”, Musk tweeted.
Reports suggest that social media users would have to subscribe to Twitter Blue at $4.99 a month or their “verified” badges would be removed. Launched last year, Twitter Blue was the platform’s first subscription service, offering exclusive premium features to its users on a monthly subscription including an option to edit tweets. Some reports also suggest that Twitter might increase the subscription price for Twitter Blue from $4.99 a month to $19.99.
