As per reports, Boeing (NYSE: BA) has announced that it will donate $1 million from the Boeing Charitable Trust to help with disaster recovery and relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida. The fund includes a $500,000 donation to the American Red Cross that will assist with food, shelter, water, relief supplies, and other efforts to hard-hit areas across the South, including the Northeast United States, and Louisiana.
The remaining $500,000 will fund additional local organizations to help communities with short and longer-term needs such as clean up, repairs, and rebuilding, including support cleanup and recovery efforts, nourishing meals for communities in need, emergency food resources to those in need, food distribution across the state, and supporting military veterans and their families who have been impacted by Hurricane Ida.
Relief efforts in Louisiana and the Northeast are in line with Boeing’s ongoing commitment to the communities where the company serves and has a presence. Boeing is active and engaged in Louisiana and the Northeast region of the U.S., and has contributed $8.7 million in charitable contributions over the last five years.
