As per reports, The Home Depot (HD) to contribute $1 million in charity with its annual Retool Your School program to support campus improvements at Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Retool Your School program, established in 2009 program promotes Historically Black Colleges and Universities critical role in the American higher education system.
Schools have been categorized into three clusters, based on student population, and the ten schools with majority votes per cluster will be awarded the grants. Home Depot is doubling its Retool Your School commitment to fund 30 projects this year providing $20,000 to $75,000 grants per school.
HBCU students, alumni, and advocates can vote for their favorite HBCUs through social media like Twitter and Instagram with the school’s designated hashtag that can be found at retoolyourschool.com or through the voting portal on the website. Voting is now open and ends on March 15, 2021, at 11:59 a.m. EST. Winners will be announced in April 2021.
