As per reports, Walt Disney Company (DIS) is offering a month of its streaming service Disney+ for $1.99 for the first month. The offer began on Nov. 8 and will run through Nov. 14 for new and eligible returning subscribers. Disney, which charges $7.99 per month for its streaming service in the United States, was going through a slowdown in subscriber growth in Disney+ that led to a Wall Street downgrade. After the one-month promo period, Disney+ will auto-renew at the standard subscription price.
Disney+, which has “Star Wars” and “Avengers” franchises in its portfolio, enjoyed new subscribers during the COVID-19 pandemic as theater closures urged people to turn to digital streaming for entertainment needs.
