Walgreens Warned From Dispensing Abortion Pills – $WBA $DIA

By John F. Heerdink, Jr.

According to reports, Walgreen Boots Alliance (WBA) has made the decision to refrain from dispensing abortion pills through the mail in the states of 20 Republican attorneys general. These attorneys general had warned the pharmacy chain that it could potentially violate the law if it chose to distribute these pills. The decision was made after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration allowed retail pharmacies to dispense mifepristone pills, including by mail, as long as they comply with special safety regulations. Mifepristone, when used in combination with misoprostol, is a medication that has been approved for abortions during the first 10 weeks of pregnancy.

Walgreen Boots Alliance (WBA) is a pharmacy-led, health and well-being enterprise with a long history of trusted healthcare services, community pharmacy care, and pharmaceutical wholesaling dates. To learn more about Walgreen Boots Alliance (WBA) and to continue to track its progress please visit the Vista Partners Walgreens Boots Alliance Page.
