As per reports, Texas-based carrier American Airlines Group Inc. (AAL) is trimming its summer schedule due to the delayed delivery of Boeing Co’s (BA) 787 Dreamliner jets. The airline informed it now expects to receive only 10 Dreamliner planes this year and not 13 as expected. Also, the remaining jets are now scheduled for delivery next year. American is in talks to temporarily suspend routes between Los Angeles and Sydney, Dallas and Santiago, and Seattle and London. It further added that it will reduce the frequency of flights between Miami and São Paulo to one a day and delay the launch of service between Dallas and Tel Aviv.
Last year in December, American announced plans to delay and scrap the introduction of various flights to several international destinations, including Hong Kong due to the delayed deliveries.
