Reportedly, Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (GS) has appointed Denis Coleman, as its chief financial officer effective year-end and is taking over from current CFO Stephen Scherr, 57. Coleman, 47, is currently serving as the co-head of the global financing group in Goldman’s investment banking division. Goldman’s global treasurer, Beth Hammack, will replace Coleman in that position.
Scherr joined Goldman in 1993 and has served as Goldman’s CFO since November 2018. After his retirement at the end of January next year, he will serve as senior director.
Scherr will continue as CFO through year-end and will lead Goldman’s quarterly results release in mid-October, allowing analysts and investors to have time to get accustomed to Coleman, who is relatively unknown.
