As per reports, Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (GS) has appointed Luke Sarsfield as the global co-head of its $2.47 trillion asset-management business, which offers advisory and investment services to several clients, including insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, and public and private pension funds. Sarsfield will share the post alongside Julian Salisbury, who has been heading the unit alone ever since Eric Lane ended his 25 years of service with the bank last year in March to join investment firm Tiger Global Management.
Chief Executive David Solomon has revamped the bank’s structure into four main businesses trading, investment banking, asset management, and consumer banking to shift its focus away from volatile trading and into more stable businesses.
