Reportedly, Walmart (WMT), Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA), and CVS Health Corp (CVS) have limited sales of at-home COVID-19 testing kits as testing demand surges due to the increasing spread of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus. The variant has become a cause of concern, ruining hopes for a more normal holiday season, re-imposing restrictions, and testing the country’s health infrastructure ahead of the holiday season.
Walgreens is reportedly limiting both online and in-store purchases of test kits to four per customer. It also said it was working with suppliers to meet the surging demand. Walmart is reportedly limiting purchases to eight tests for each online order, however, the physical stores are allowed to set their own limits depending on inventory.
