IBM Considers Selling Weather Business To Focus On Cloud & Software Services – $IBM $DIA

Reportedly, International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) is contemplating the sale of its weather business as the company prioritizes software and cloud services. The division was obtained through the acquisition of the Weather Channel and Weather Underground’s apps and websites in 2015, which aimed to expand IBM’s presence in the Internet of Things market.

IBM has been refocusing on cloud computing and has divested legacy infrastructure unit Kyndryl Inc. Additionally, the company had previously announced plans to reduce its workforce by cutting 3,900 employees, with a focus on those who remained after divestitures of units.
