Reportedly, Walmart Stores, Inc. (WMT) will begin testing autonomous vehicle delivery services in three cities with Ford and self-driving car company Argo. The retail giant will use hybrid Ford Escape SUVs augmented along with Argo’s AI technology. In 2017, Ford invested $1 billion in Argo and Volkswagen invested $2.6 billion in 2020.
Initial testing will begin in Miami, Austin, Texas, and Washington, D.C. to begin later this year. The companies informed that the autonomous delivery service will be available at first within defined service areas of the three cities and will expand further over time.
