ImmunityBio, Inc. (NASDAQ: IBRX, $3.14, rose 1.95% today after jumping +24.19% on Monday), a clinical-stage immunotherapy company, today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has accepted for review ImmunityBio’s resubmission of its Biologics License Application (BLA) for N-803, a first-in-class IL-15 superagonist, plus Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) for the treatment of BCG-unresponsive non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer carcinoma in situ (CIS) with or without Ta or T1 disease, and considered it as a complete response to the FDA’s May 9, 2023 complete response letter. Roivant (Nasdaq: ROIV, $8.64, +2.25%) announced on October 23 the entry into a definitive agreement with Roche to acquire Telavant Holdings, Inc. (Telavant), a Roivant company, owned by Roivant Sciences Ltd. and Pfizer Inc. The agreement includes the development, manufacturing and commercialization rights in the US and Japan for RVT-3101, a novel TL1A directed antibody. RVT-3101 is a promising new therapy in development for people suffering from inflammatory bowel disease, including ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. Inflammatory bowel disease is a group of chronic gastrointestinal disorders with almost 8 million people diagnosed worldwide and 80% of all individuals not experiencing lasting remission. Given the antibody’s novel mode of action targeting both inflammation and fibrosis, it has potential to be applied in multiple other diseases. Roche will pay a purchase price of $7.1 billion upfront and a near-term milestone payment of $150 million.
