As per reports, McDonald’s (MCD), UK is putting its walk-in takeaway services on temporary hold as the country has imposed new lockdown restrictions following the rising cases of Coronavirus in the country. The burger giant also informed that the dine-in meals will be unavailable temporarily. Drive-through and delivery services across the fast-food chain will continue to remain open.
The U.K head stated that it will be testing “additional measures that may further enhance the safety of our takeaway service.”
McDonald’s, UK & Ireland chief executive, Paul Pomroy informed that the customers would be updated via the restaurant’s app and its website with all the necessary updates. He also informed that safety measures across the firm’s 1,300 restaurants will be inspected by an independent health and safety body.
However, McDonald’s rival food chains KFC, Burger King, Subway, and Pret A Manger are still offering takeaways in-store.
