World’s Largest Consumer Goods Companies To Miss Deforestation Goals For 2020

Reportedly, the world’s two largest consumer goods companies Procter & Gamble Co and Nestle SA have confirmed that they are falling short of targets to achieve zero deforestation goals by 2020, an initiative where products which contribute to deforestation are discouraged by the companies. P&G which uses palm oil in its Tide detergent and Olay skincare products mentioned on its website “to establish zero deforestation in our supply chain by 2020.” However, a spokesman for the company informed that the company is still working to meet its deforestation promises made in 2010 at Consumer Goods Forum (GCF), an industry trade group.

Both Nestle and P&G have been working for the last decade to reduce deforestation confirmed their ongoing efforts to reach their deforestation goals.
