Walmart & Capital One To Introduce Combined Retail Credit Card Program

Capital One & Walmart Stores, Inc. (WMT) are now launching the Capital One Walmart Rewards Credit Card Program with two new credit cards rewarding customers for shopping at Walmart and other places where the card is accepted. The program’s signature card, the Capital One Walmart Rewards MasterCard, and the Walmart Rewards Card exclusively for Walmart purchases, to be made available beginning September 24. Customers can apply for the card online at Walmart.com, the Walmart app, at CapitalOne.com or can also place a request via mobile application by sending a text, after which a verification process takes place and customers receive their cards after successful completion of the above steps.

The Capital One Walmart Rewards MasterCard to offer customers benefits like cashback, no annual fee or foreign transaction fee, facility to redeem rewards, and gift cards. Cardholders can also enjoy digital tools from Capital One like real-time purchases, security alerts, access to lock and unlock their card through the Capital One mobile app.

In addition to the above, the Walmart Rewards Card to offer cardholders with cashback, introductory offers, including various other benefits at the Walmart Fuel Stations. Existing Walmart cardholders to be converted to Capital One Walmart Rewards MasterCard or the Walmart Rewards Card and are expected to start earning new rewards from October 11 with updated cards arriving in the mail by November.
