Reportedly, The Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) parent company of NYSE recently announced the launch of the NYSE Board Advisory Council to connect board candidates with NYSE-listed companies and conduct live networking sessions to promote diversity among corporate boards. The advisory council consists of 15 founding members, Merck (MRK) CEO Kenneth C. Frazier, Coca-Cola (KO) CEO James Quincey, Procter & Gamble (PG) CEO David Taylor, Delta Air Lines (DAL) to name a few.
“The issue of diversity on boards to me is an issue of financial performance and the sustainability of that performance,” “If you don’t reflect your communities, if you don’t reflect your customer, I don’t think you stay in business for a long period of time, and that’s important to investors.” Stated Susan Story, CEO American Water Works (AWK) who is also one of the founding members of the council.
The Council’s first networking summit is set to be held on Tuesday, in the coming week.
