Reportedly, Ryanair expects Boeing’s (BA) 737 MAX aircraft to return to operations in the United States in the next month or so after it’s more than a year-long grounding. Investigators of the crashes blamed faults in the 737 Max’s flight control system, which Boeing has been rebuilding for months to meet new safety demands and resume operations.
The Federal Aviation Administration issued a draft report on revised training procedures for the 737 MAX, marking a milestone to return the plane back to operations. Ryanair’s CEO, Eddie Wilson, said it hoped to start taking delivery of the planes early next year. Before the grounding and ban of 737 Max, Ryanair airlines had 135 of them on order.
“The first of those (orders) we would hope to arrive in very early 2021. The FAA finished their test flights last week and it looks like it’s going to go back into service in the U.S. in the next month or so. EASA, the European agency, are working very closely,” stated Eddie Wilson, the chief executives of Ryanair’s main airlines business, told Ireland’s Newstalk radio station.
