Reportedly, Home Depot has dispatched 35 truckloads of generators to stores in the areas hit by tropical storm Barry to help locals cope with power outages. Reportedly, in addition to the above initiative, 250 additional truckloads of supplies in the 28 stores in Louisiana and Mississippi in the storm’s path have been dispatched. Barry hit Intracoastal City about 125 miles west of New Orleans in Louisiana in morning and winds declined to 40 miles per hour, as reported by the U.S. National Hurricane Center. The home-improvement retailer reportedly did not create a separate command center for Barry at its Atlanta headquarters since the storm was demoted from a Category 1 hurricane.
In 2017, hurricanes boosted sales of Home retailers with supplies of plywood, pumps, generators and other necessary items in storm-affected areas of Florida and Texas.
