Exxon Mobil Corporation (XOM) explores for and produces crude oil and natural gas in the United States, Canada/South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia/Oceania. It also manufactures and markets commodity petrochemicals, including olefins, aromatics, polyethylene, and polypropylene plastics, and specialty products; and transports and sells crude oil, natural gas, and petroleum products.
Reportedly, Exxon is set to donate $350,000 to the United Way and the American Red Cross to help flood victims affected by tropical storm Imelda in the Beaumont and greater Houston areas in Texas where more than 11,000 ExxonMobil employees live and work.
“Our heartfelt sympathies are with our colleagues, friends, and neighbors in the areas impacted by flooding from the storm,” , “We hope that our assistance will help provide some relief during this time of need,” stated Darren W. Woods, chairman, and chief executive officer of Exxon Mobil Corporation.
United Way which is working closely with 20 nonprofit agencies in the affected area to provide food, shelter, and counseling to people affected by the storm to receive $200,000, whereas $150,000 will be directed to the Greater Houston Chapter of the Red Cross which is working to provide shelter, meals, relief supplies and comfort to the affected residents.
