Exxon Enters Agreement with Singapore’s Sinanju Tankers Holdings Pte Ltd

Exxon Mobil Corporation (XOM) explores for and produces crude oil and natural gas in the United States, Canada/South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia/Oceania. It also manufactures and markets commodity petrochemicals, including olefins, aromatics, polyethylene, and polypropylene plastics, and specialty products; and transports and sells crude oil, natural gas, and petroleum products.

As per reports, ExxonMobil has entered into a two-year charter agreement with Sinanju Tankers Holdings Pte Ltd to lease out its 7,990 deadweight tonnage LNG powered bunker tanker for the movement of ExxonMobil’s new Engineered Marine Fuels to ocean-going vessels within Singapore port limits from next year. The use of LNG powered bunker will help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the bunker industry.

Exxon’s new Engineered Marine Fuels (EMF.5) are designed to comply with the International Maritime Organization’s global rules for the limit of sulfur content in marine fuels to 0.5% from a current percentage of 3.5%. The tanker is expected to join Sinanju’s vessel bunker fleet in December 2019.
