Reportedly, Walt Disney Co (DIS) announced the furloughing of additional workers from its Disneyland theme park in Southern California due to the continued uncertainty caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
The number of furloughs was not disclosed and include executive, salaried, and hourly workers across Disney’s U.S. theme parks, in California and Florida. The furloughs are on top of the 28,000 employees who were laid off in September, this year.
President Ken Potrock announced the furloughs in a memo. He also informed that the furloughed employees will still be able to maintain health insurance and hoped to get them back to work once Disneyland reopens.
