Reportedly, the Walt Disney Company (DIS) will lower its advertising and marketing spend on Facebook (FB) after the social media giant experienced an ad boycott over its handling of controversial content, hate speech, and enforcement of policies surrounding the objectionable content. Disney didn’t make a public announcement on cutting back on Facebook but changed advertising plans silently. Disney also paused spending on Facebook-owned Instagram for Hulu, its another streaming service.
Recently, companies like Starbucks Corp, Adidas AG, Unilever Plc, and others also reportedly pulled advertising from the social media giant. Disney remained unavailable for comment.
