The Home Depot, Inc. (HD) is the world’s largest home improvement retailer with retail stores all across North America. The Home Depot sells building materials and home improvement products, as well as lawn and garden supplies, and provides installation, home maintenance, and professional service programs.
Reportedly, The Revolutionary Confederation of Laborers and Farmworkers, or CROC have suspended to launch a strike at Home Depot stores across Mexico over labor demands as the trade union is negotiating with the U.S home improvement chain for better pay and benefit of workers. CROC is demanding a 20% pay raise, benefits such as 20 annual vacation days and more contributions toward transportation, school supplies, food and savings funds. The negotiation process is been monitored by local labor councils.
As per CROC, Home Depot has around 6,200 workers under the union’s contracts, out of a total of 16,000 Home Depot employees across 125 stores in Mexico.
“If there is no agreement between the parties, they establish a day and time to launch the strike,” stated CROC spokesman Eduardo Miranda.
