China Airlines Awards Boeing ~$2.1B Deal

Reportedly, China Airlines has entered into an agreement with Boeing (NYSE: BA) for the delivery of six 777 Freighters for an approximate value of $2.1 billion according to the list price. The airline currently is operating with the world’s largest 747 Freighter fleets is now set to launch operations from Taipei to North America and is planning to transit to the largest and longest-range twin-engine freighters in the industry with this deal. The 777 Freighter is equipped to travel long-range trans-Pacific missions in excess of 6,000 nautical miles and with 20% more payload in comparison to freighters 747-400F, helping the airlines to make fewer stops and reducing landing fees.
