Chevron’s Gorgon LNG Plant To Be Inspected By Australian Regulator

By John F. Heerdink, Jr.

Reportedly, Chevron Corporation (CVX) has been issued orders by a Western Australia regulator to inspect some trains at its Australian Gorgon liquefied natural gas plant for the propane heat exchangers. Earlier last month, Australia’s Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) were expected to inspect Chevron’s LNG plant, after calls from trade union to shut it down.

The department’s Dangerous Goods and Petroleum Safety Director Steve Emery stated “issued the company with a remediation notice to inspect the propane heat exchangers on trains one and three no later than 21 August 2020.”

Dow 30 component Chevron Corporation (CVX), through its subsidiaries, engages in integrated energy, chemicals, and petroleum operations worldwide.  To learn more about Chevron (CVX) and to track their progress please visit the Vista Partners Chevron Page.
