Boeing’s Board Divides Role Of Chairman & CEO

Dow 30 component Boeing (NYSE: BA) is the world’s largest aerospace company and leading manufacturer of commercial jetliners and defense, space and security systems.

As per reports, the Board of Directors of Boeing have announced separate roles of the chairman and the chief executive officer of the company. David L. Calhoun, currently serving as an independent lead director has been elected to serve as a non-executive chairman. The decision marks a step forward to strengthen the company’s safety management processes along with its governance and allowing Dennis A. Muilenburg who continues to serve as CEO, president, and director to concentrate full-time on running the company and making a successful comeback of Boeing’s 737 MAX aircraft, as per reports.

“I am fully supportive of the board’s action. Our entire team is laser-focused on returning the 737 MAX safely to service and delivering on the full breadth of our company’s commitments,” stated Muilenburg, CEO.
