Apple CFO Luca Maestri Announces Delayed Launch Of New 5G Enabled iPhone 12

By John F. Heerdink, Jr.

As per reports, Apple’s (AAPL) next iPhone launch will be delayed by a “few weeks”, announced Apple CFO Luca Maestri during the company’s Q3 2020 earnings call. Apple’s latest launch of iPhone, presumably called the iPhone 12 is expected to be the company’s first 5G-capable product offering faster download and upload speeds, encouraging a number of iPhone users to upgrade their iPhones to the latest version.

The iPhones typically launch in the second half of September contributing a small amount to the quarter’s overall iPhone revenue, however, the delay this time is expected to have an impact on the company’s Q4 2020 earnings. The company did not provide forward-looking guidance for the firm’s Q4 revenue due to the economic uncertainty created by the coronavirus pandemic.

Apple reported an iPhone revenue of $26.4 billion along with a massive third-quarter revenue of $59.7 billion, beating expectations of $52.3 billion.
