Reportedly, American Airlines (AAL) is set to restart the U.S. Boeing (BA) 737 MAX commercial flights this week, marking another milestone for Boeing after its 737 Max received FAA approval last month to resume operations after the company agreed to software upgrades and new safeguards that reportedly led to the two fatal crashes killing 346 people. American Airlines’ first flight between Miami and New York’s LaGuardia is set to depart for Dec 29 morning, follows flight control updates, fresh pilot training, maintenance work, meetings with flight crews to walk them through Boeing’s changes and address concerns.
“We would have never brought this back if the pilots and flight attendants didn’t feel comfortable,” stated American’s Chief Operating Officer David Seymour.
American is the third carrier globally to resume flights following Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes and Grupo Aeromexico earlier this month.
